The new emblem for the Mako Shark Corvette was bold and no longer featured a circle border or any words. This logo stood for Corvette from the end of 1962 through 1968. The flags were enlarged and flowed outside of the circle boundary. The white background was dropped and the label was also removed. The second logo used for Corvette was a streamlined upgrade. The replacement for the American flag on the logo design was a red flag with the fleur-de-lis on it. Unfortunately, just before its debut, this logo was pulled because of laws concerning using the American flag in advertising. ![]() There were two crossed flags: the American flag and a finish-line flag with “Chevrolet” arched across the top and “Corvette” across the bottom. This car is a testament to hardship, American pride, and changes in our country, as well as the vehicle itself. The logo has been updated with each generation of Corvette.
